Kunst:Dialoge

At the beginning of 2017, ten women, all members of the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst, joined forces to support the admirable and important format of the Kunst:Dialoge. They decided to back the initiative since then continually and thus secured the project's immediate future.

The initiative was founded in 2003, largely through the efforts of the Gesellschaft für Moderne Kunst. Today, the kunst:dialoge are an integral component of the educational program of the Museum Ludwig and are overseen by Angelika von Tomaszewski, Head of Art Education.

The innovative educational format targets especially a younger audience, whereby all other museum visitors are, of course, welcome to participate. In these dialogues, participants are given the opportunity to discuss artists and their works in greater detail. The Kunst:Dialoge help to overcome inhibitions and discuss art from a personal point of view.

Furthermore, the Kunst:Dialoge are also part of a demanding training programme: Art history students from the universities in Cologne, Bonn, and Düsseldorf are trained as art educators, not only with regard to their specialist field, but also in techniques of communication, rhetoric, posture, and spontaneous reaction – that is to say in the mediation of art for a wide audience.
